The Warmth of our Hands & Hearts Can Cure

- Serenity Massage Therapy -

Unlike massage chains or beauty spas, Serenity offers a more personal client-focused approach to healing and wellness. Massage is often misconstrued as a means for relaxation. Serenity offers this important benefit of relaxation too, but it's merely a latent function of our overall approach to true holistic healthcare. Every mind and every body is vastly different from one another. At Serenity, we will learn the characteristics of your mind/body connection to maximize your experience, health benefits, and of course, relaxation!

Many different events during my life’s journey led me to the realization that my true passion was to help others reach their greatest potential through a health and wellness practice. Serenity encompasses my commitment to good health and honoring the Divine in you; many blessings to you and yours on your own journey. I’d be honored to serve you on your path through life to reach your greatest potential!

Client Testimonials

  • Maggie Koleva

Patty has something special that I've never experienced with another therapist. Her extensive knowledge of the human body and her uncanny ability to identify what is ailing me, and then treat those problem areas, is truly astounding.

  • Renee Czerbya

Patty is the most amazing massage therapist. I have been getting massages from Patty now for two years. She has helped my mind and body become balanced. I have three young children and they also see Patty regularly. I also take my 4 year old niece and 3 year old nephew to see Patty, they all love her and look forward to their visits with Patty!

  • Jay Beaton

Massage therapy is part of my circle of health, along with chiropractic medicine, acupuncture, diet, and exercise. I don't trust my health and well being to just person. Serenity Massage Therapy sought to understand how my body works (or doesn't in some cases). The techniques applied have helped me heal and recover, relax, and relieve stress. Words cannot adequately express my gratitude, but Thank You Serenity Massage Therapy.

  • Deb Snider

Patty is very knowledgeable about massage therapy and helpful in explaining why and how the body responds to various stressors. I have learned so much from Patty over the several years I have been going to her.

Therapeutic Massage

Massage therapy began as a sacred system of natural healing as long as 5,000 years ago. However, cultural shifts rendered it a disreputable form of indulgence for extensive periods of history. Civilizations in the East and West found that natural healing and massage could heal injuries, relieve pain, and prevent and cure illnesses. What's more, it helped reduce stress and produce deep relaxation. Enduring these turns, massage has experienced resurgence in modern times. Today, massage therapy stands as a highly respected holistic healing method practiced across the world. In a professional and private setting, I primarily use organic oils and provide full body massage, for all main areas of the body including face. As I work around the body, I undrape only the specific muscle groups that are being worked on at a particular time. Please note, essential oils (Aromatherapy) can be added to any massage session, or lotion can be used in place of oils.
Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is not just a regular massage with stonger pressure, but rather a therapeutic treatment directly focused on individual muscle fibers. Deep Tissue Massage employs techniques that “unstick” these muscle fibers from one another so that the flow of blood and lymphatic fluid is restored to the muscle. Although Deep Tissue Massage is an intense treatment, it is done in such a way as to encourage the body to remain relaxed.
swedish massage

Swedish Massage

The gentle but firm pressure of a Swedish massage improves circulation and eases muscle tension and pain. Swedish massage is generally a full body massage with oil or lotion and it works on all major muscle groups in the body. The purpose of the oil or lotion is to ensure smoothness of strokes. The therapeutic benefit of this massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Other possible benefits include stimulation of circulation, immune and lymphatic systems, an increase in muscle tone, and a balance of the musculo-skeletal systems. Most importantly, Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load and for many it also reduces blood pressure. Swedish massage strokes are generally lighter and performed with gentle pressure.

Zen Shiatsu

There are many benefits derived through a Zen Shiatsu session, but most notably clients report an improved sense of relaxation, self-awareness and well -being. Zen Shiatsu is traditionally used as a preventative therapy but is very effective in the alleviation of chronic body pain, improving flexibility and enhancing digestive functions. A Zen Shiatsu session is given on a Japanese style futon on the floor with the client in comfortable clothing: long sleeved shirt and pants. The main focus of the session is to detect and nourish the weak areas but also disperse excess energy that may be causing imbalance in the various organ systems. This is accomplished by set techniques including accupressure points and meridian stretches along various channels of the body, this automatically stimulates the natural healing powers of the body to help relieve symptoms of many health issues.

B.E.S.T. (Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique)

From the Morter Health System, the original sensory-specific technique called the Bio Energetic Synchronization Technique (B.E.S.T.); an astounding nutrition program based on acid/alkaline balance; and guidelines for the correct choices to make in the Six Essentials for Life (what you eat, what you drink, how you exercise, how you rest, what you breathe and what you think). B.E.S.T. is a non-forceful, energy balancing hands on procedure used to help re-establish the full healing potential of the body. The B.E.S.T. technique and principles acknowledge the concept of Interference we create with our conscious mind. This Interference causes imbalances in the autonomic nervous system leading to exhaustion of our organ systems over time. Researched at major universities, and also taught in several Chiropractic Colleges in addition to being taught in educational seminars, B.E.S.T. technique is recognized as an effective healing science.

N.S.T. (Neurostructural Integration Technique)

N.S.T. is a structural bodywork technique that balances the body, and provides lasting results. When our body's are in balance, all of the systems in the body function better creating homeostasis. NST's underlying philosophy is that resolving imbalances in your spinal column allows for entire body auto-regulation to a transcendent level of relaxation, well being, and rejuvenation. NST is a process that allows your body to regulate this balance and, as a result, provide relief from pain and dysfunction. Many clients also notice an increase in energy levels.

The word "reiki" in Japanese translates roughly as "universal life force energy." Reiki massage is a gentle form of energy healing for the whole body and mind. A calming, relaxing and de-stressing effect is experienced by most clients. Energy flows along a pathway in the body. Certain points ("chakras" or "meridians") control corresponding parts of the body, with the heart chakra, for example, governing the organ along with feelings such as love and compassion. Serenity has taken classes to achieve "attunement" so we can connect with ours clients' energy. Using our hands we clear the negative energy and create a healthy flow. Clearing this energy encourages the body to heal itself, as well as easing anxiety during difficult rehabilitations such as chemotherapy or surgery.
